Implants

Picture of Implant
Picture of Implant

Implant technology has revolutionized the way we practice dentistry. Implants have given us solutions to problems that had no solution previously. Before implants, when a single tooth or multiple teeth were missing, there were two options: a bridge or a removable partial/denture. Bridges require preparation of the existing teeth used to hold the bridge in place which can jeopardize the future these teeth. Bridges can only replace a limited amount of teeth, are subject to specific requirements, and have a relatively low life expectancy. As far as partials/dentures go, let’s face it, even the best are annoying and somewhat uncomfortable. Implants have virtually the same feel as natural teeth and exceptional esthetics can be achieved. The placement and retention of implants is independent of the other teeth, therefore, they do not compromise the existing teeth. The longevity of implants far surpasses any other option making implants the economical choice as well. Dr. Stolcis started her implant training while still in dental school, and it has been the focus of her continuing education ever since. Check back soon to see the implants of one of our satisfied patients.

Composite (Tooth-colored) Fillings

A composite filling is the modern, esthetic alternative to silver fillings. The obvious advantage of composite fillings are the wonderful esthetics they bring. Composites can be matched to your natural tooth color so perfectly that only your dentist will know they are there. The other advantages of tooth-colored fillings are not so obvious. With modern bonding techniques, less tooth structure is removed when compared to the requirements for silver fillings (in short, placing these fillings is a less invasive procedure). The less tooth structure removed, the stronger the tooth remains. If you are interested in more information, the Academy of General Denstistry has written a fact sheet about composite fillings. Veneers

Veneers are thin coverings of porcelain that are bonded or cemented to the front of teeth.  They are a very popular cosmetic option used to enhance your smile.  Problems with discoloration, chipping, spacing, size or shape can be corrected with veneers.  Sometimes little to no tooth structure needs to be removed in order to place veneers thus leaving the tooth still very strong and healthy.  Veneers are commonly used in “smile makeovers” due to the beautiful aesthetics that can be achieved.

Pictures coming soon of an example of old, bulky veneers and discolored teeth being replaced with properly shaped and contoured veneers which match perfectly with the other teeth.

Gold Crown

Gold crowns

When esthetics is not an issue, gold crowns are, well, the gold standard. Gold is an exceptional material for restoring back teeth due to its inherent qualities. It is extremely durable especially when subjected to the stresses and strains of chewing. The needed thickness to achieve this durability is relatively low, meaning less tooth structure is removed in preparing teeth for gold crowns. The soft, pliable nature of gold allows for a very precise fit and is very gentle to the opposing teeth resulting in a very long lasting choice of restoration. The most highly respected dentists in the country still recommend gold for back teeth, but porcelin crowns are increasingly being used for other teeth.

Cosmetic Crown

Porcelain crowns

New materials have enabled dentists to virtually eliminate the dreaded gray or silver line commonly seen with older porcelain crowns. These newer materials are also responsible for the increased life-like qualities that we are achieving with today’s porcelain crowns. A unique advantage that we enjoy at Adobe Dentistry is a very close relationship with our ceramist. Literally, he is two doors down. Every esthetic crown is custom-shaded to achieve the closest possible color, shape, and personal characteristics needed to make your smile absolutely beautiful.

Root Canal Treatment

Root canals are one of the most feared and misunderstood procedures in dentistry, but they shouldn’t be.  Root canal procedures have been revolutionized in the last five years.  Historically, a root canal required many long, tedious and often painful visits. Modern techniques allow for quick, highly successful, painless root canals to be completed in one visit. It is not uncommon for our patients to fall asleep during this procedure.

Full Mouth Rehabilitation

Sometimes it is necessary to completely rebuild and redesign a majority or all of the teeth using a combination of crowns, bridges and implants.

Below are the pictures of one of ecstatic patients at Adobe Dentistry. Mike came to Adobe in need of a full mouth rehabilitation. Dr. Stolcis and her team restored Mike's smile and bite with full mouth porcelain crowns. Mike is not only thrilled with his new smile, he is also eating, breathing, sleeping, and living better.

Chris the Hygenist

What good is a beautiful smile if the foundation (your gums and bone) is not healthy? That is why we at Adobe Dentistry believe strongly in and are committed to prevention. The easiest way to assure a lifelong, beautiful smile is to prevent disease in the first place. We emphasize regular cleanings and continually educate our patients on what they can do to take control of their oral health. We provide a thorough periodontal exam which helps us determine what treatment is appropriate for you. We perform scale and root planing procedures (deep cleanings), antibiotic therapy, and customized maintenance programs for our patients with more complex needs.

Zoom LogoAdobe Dentistry is proud to offer the best in whitening technology.  The Zoom!™ In-Office Whitening System is a cutting-edge tooth whitening dental procedure.  It's safe, effective and fast, very fast. In just over an hour, your teeth will be dramatically whiter. The convenience of Zoom!™ in comparison to days of wearing gradual whitening trays makes it the perfect choice for the busy individual. Zoom!™ Whitening is ideal for anyone looking for immediate results.

How Zoom!™ Works!

The Zoom!™ light-activated gel was developed after years of research by Discus Dental, the leaders in Patient getting Zoomprofessional take-home tooth whitening dentistry. The gel is a scientifically formulated, pH balanced Hydrogen Peroxide that, when activated by the Zoom!™ light, gently penetrates the teeth to remove deep stains and discoloration. With proper care and an occasional touch -up at home, your whiter smile will sparkle for years.

The Zoom!™ whitening procedure is simple and painless. It begins with a short preparation to isolate your lips and gums. We then apply the proprietary Zoom!™ Whitening Gel which is activated by a specially designed light. Teeth typically become at least six to ten shades whiter, sometimes more. A five minute fluoride treatment completes the procedure. You'll be amazed with the results. In most cases, teeth get even whiter the first few days after the procedure.
